How to Use the Excavator Track Adjuster
Having the right amount of track tension on your equipment is key for keeping it running smoothly. If the tracks are too loose they could slip off the sprocket and damage your equipment’s undercarriage. However, if the tracks are too tight they can cause excessive wear which will shorten their lifespan. A good way to manage this is by using the excavator track adjuster. This article will discuss how to properly use this tool to maintain proper track sag on your equipment.
First remove the cover plate that is located on the back of the excavator’s undercarriage. This will give you clear visibility to the track adjuster valve and grease fitting. Once you’ve connected a grease gun and added enough grease to bring the track sag within your equipment’s recommended specifications, then turn the valve clockwise to tighten the tracks.
